Hillingdon Cycle Circuit
Hillingdon Cycle Circuit is a popular sports facility, with 1.5km of traffic-free roadway, used for racing, training and recreational cycling. Until recently it suffered from a lack of any sheltered enclosed space. It is located in Minet Wildlife park, a protected open space owned by the Borough.
Working with Hillingdon Cycle Circuit Users Group, AALW obtained planning consent for a new clubhouse which then obtained funding from the Borough and British Cycling, on condition that the project was built within the financial year.
This was made possible by the use of a modular volumetric construction method. The whole superstructure of the building was delivered to site and erected in two days.
The building has greatly enhanced the use of the circuit.
