• Strand On The Green Infant School
Initially intended to be a replacement lavatory block, the resulting building now incorporates teaching facilities and includes a wealth of environmental learning possibilities through both its design and the incorporation of sustainable design items.

The first phase provides the replacement lavatories behind a thick facetted blue brick wall, designed to be part of an interactive playground. The building has high thermal mass and includes solar thermal water pre-heating, a green roof (designed to be reusable in the second phase), water conservation technologies and an integral cycle store.

The second phase will provide three additional classrooms both above and adjacent to the recently completed first phase.
