Chiswick Health Centre
Planning permission was obtained by the practice in 2012 for an extension to Chiswick Health Centre, a large NHS facility built in the 1980’s. The extension is part of a full modernisation of the building. It incorporates physiotherapy, health visitors, admin and storage and is to be built as the first phase of the project, enabling decanting of other parts of the building to take place, as the building is to remain fully operational throughout.
To assist with this, modern methods of construction have been incorporated in the form of a modular prefabricated format, which will enable the shell to be erected in a matter of days. The impact of the extension on the street scene had to be mitigated with improvements to the urban realm.
