West Ham Station Capacity Enhancement
Acanthus Architects LW produced feasibility studies for The West Ham station western ticket hall in 2007 which was revisited in 2013. The original feasibility study included an allowance for Greenway access and egress from the Olympic site and also involved providing additional capacity for the existing District Line platforms to accommodate passengers visiting the 2012 Olympic Games.
The second part of the project was the feasibility design of a new western concourse building to the west side of the Jubilee Line tracks; this building, connected by overbridge to the existing buildings and platforms, is intended to serve a large area of land which is part of the Lower Lea Valley Redevelopment. This may result in a development of up to 3000 residential units.
