Aveley Village Extension
Acanthus Architects LW were appointed to submit a reserved matters application for a development of 340 residential dwellings. The proposals were based on a community led strategy for regeneration and include play areas, urban squares, allotments, nature walks and a biodiversity park with native planting and grasslands aimed to increase species composition and flowering plant diversity. Enhancement of existing ponds on the site also provided nature conservation benefits and increased biodiversity. The play areas were designed to incorporate natural materials such as timber and stone and encourage children to explore and experience their natural environment.
