A residential development of 27 houses and flats on a former industrial site. The site contains a dilapidated Victorian electricity works that has been designated as a ‘Building of Townscape Merit’ and has therefore been restored.
The scheme looks to supplement the existing buildings with the addition of new build units and will provide a mix of 1 and 2 bedroom apartments and small mews houses for both market sale and affordable rented tenure.
The scheme has been designed to achieve Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 for the new build and Ecohomes ‘Very Good’ for the conversion units.
The high level of public interest meant that the design development required extensive consultation with both the planning authority and local community groups.
