Morden Park House
This is a grade II* listed suburban villa of c.1760 owned by the London Borough of Merton. The building was derelict and had been vandalised. The client’s brief was to repair the building, convert it for use as a register office and be fully accessible. The building was carefully repaired, and detrimental later interventions were removed to allow the discreet insertion of the necessary modern facilities. We led the multi-disciplinary design team, prepared a conservation plan, obtained the necessary planning and listed building consents, and all production information. During the construction phase we were contract administrators. Three-quarters of the project cost was met by a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
