Green Park Station Step Free Access
This £60m project provides step-free access including new lifts and ramps from Green Park into the ticket hall. A new copper and Portland stone clad canopy fronts onto Piccadilly and provides a beacon in the streetscape while sheltering the lift entrance and a new staircase. We were commissioned as landscape architects detailing the earth sheltering of the ticket hall extension and a new ramped access from the park.
As part of the planning approval there has been collaboration with artist John Maine RA whose work is featured in relief on the Portland Stone cladding and granite paving to the canopy frontage. One of the projects many successes involved multiple consultations with London Underground, Westminster City Council, The Royal Parks, English Heritage, the Ritz Hotel and other local resident bodies.
