Acanthus Architects LW won the commission to carry out the designs for the PPP Station Modernisation and Enhancement Programme of works from 2002-2008 for the Piccadilly Line. London Underground stations, in particular the Piccadilly Line stations, are important examples of the earliest Modern Movement buildings in the country.

Of the 14 stations that were our responsibility all were listed or had qualities or features of significant heritage importance. Knightsbridge  was the first full modernisation of the station since the 1930’s

The programme called for effective communication in presenting our views to the Client and Contractor to establish and maintain close working relationships for successful partnering.

Southgate station was awarded the National Railway Heritage Awards 2008.
