Acanthus Architects LW were commissioned by Charles Church to carry out the production information for the development of 192 flats and houses on the island between the River Brent and the Grand Union Canal at Brentford. The buildings are arranged to maximise the number of rooms with views of the water, and the main blocks are built above an underground car park. The project included the design of a range of public spaces, play areas, communal gardens, ecological parks, urban squares and canal side walkways. The residential courtyards were designed to take full advantage of the views and access to the canal.
