This competition entry was for ‘Flow City’ proposing linear blocks responding to the topography of the site. The aim of the development is to create a sense of well-being for the residents.
The programme aims to interweave the existing natural forms with the new built environment. Rain water management is a major component. Utilizing the existing sloping topography of the site, rainwater is collected from the roofs to irrigate the landscape within the development. The excess water is then distributed for the communal use within the urban gardens.
The buildings are orientated along the North-South axis to connect the town centre to the natural landscape in the north. ‘Flow City’ would transform the site facilitating the flow of activity between the city and nature.
